Emergency Patch Release
I've released the emergency patch for Shattered Realms: Mortal Tale, which should fix a number of key issues people were having. To be clear however, this is not a perfect fix update and addresses the most critical of issues that directly affect being able to play the game. I did correct many issues as I found them, but in order to get the patch out, I prioritized the immediate concern issues.
This patch comes with a few things to keep in mind:
- If you have already been playing a build of Shattered Realms: Mortal Tale -
- Updating your save is possible, but may potentially break the save.
- New content has a habit of breaking older content by its very nature, sometimes the best approach is to fresh start, as unpalatable as that sounds.
- If you reached the Sacred Valley and proceeded past it, the game will not likely function correctly. Anyone who left off at the Sacred Valley is advised to restart. Any content you could access there is not finalized and will potentially break or be unbalanced.
- As stated before, the Sacred Valley content is no longer considered stable content and for this reason, has been locked off for any save file that is generated with this update. Once you reach the entrance, you will be reminded that the Sacred Valley is locked for the time being, and given the option to continue playing the currently available content and be teleported away, or end your playthrough and view credits.
- In compensation for the second item, a new boss has been added into the game, the Leviathan. It can be challenged any time in the Red Knight's Realm after reaching the entrance to the Sacred Valley and selecting Continue option. It is extremely difficult and meant to be the final challenge for this update, so explore the rest of the content first and get as much good gear and skills as you can. This is part of the Overworld Bosses mechanic coming to the game in the full Heart of Corruption update, where Leviathan and one other Overworld boss will make their proper appearance.
- The official Soundtrack is largely implemented in this patch, much of the music is now changed. Please enjoy the epic talent of Xavier, this has been a long anticipated day.
