Patch Notes for Demo Update 1.0.5
It's been about 2 years since I last posted the demo, and there was significant issues with the game and the balancing. I can't believe I'm even saying that. 2 years. In any case. This update brings much needed relief and quality updates, which I'll just right into.
Combat Overhaul - Standard Turn Base System
We now operate off of the Standard Turn Base System, which elevates the front view style to a new level. Building off the design philosophy of attacking weaknesses and doing combos over attack spam, Standard Turn Base rewards you with Weakness Exploits, and lets you see the turn order to prepare for your encounters. When you succeed in exploiting all enemies, the game rewards you with an extra action called All Out Warfare. Exploiting a single enemy lets your actor take an additional action, easily allowing you to exploit whole troop encounters if you know what you're doing.
As you can also see, I've added the Action Cutin system as well, which is something I attempted to replicate without plugins, to much less efficient effect.
All of the classes got a generalized overhaul and rebalancing, and most importantly, Noxagnis is no longer the supreme king of damage. Class Promotions were partially implemented, but unfortunately I was getting too mired in endless slog attempting to get the game overhauled. Still, you'll find everyone is a lot more effective, and the general experience is a lot more rounded out in favor of both party groups.
Really, this is the biggest part of the update, aside from some additional scenes, new artwork (I couldn't rework everything and I really do have to make progress on the main game at this point, so apologies) and some new enemies and encounter variety!
I'll address any major issues such as game breaks, obviously, but I'm not planning on updating the demo any further than this from a content or major rework sense. Expect to see major updates relatively soon as I now enter the main phase of development with hopefully no additional distractions.
