Devlog 110 - Stayin Alive, Redux


I'm terrible, honestly.    Well,   there's plenty to talk about so let's get into it.

So much of my time has been away from SR:MT in order to rest from burn out, but I have returned with a vengeance, and I have some screenshots to share of the Underworld tilesets!

This was done a while ago, but I realized that I was spinning my wheels and gaining no traction. In lieu of that, I began approaching the design of the game from a different angle. I resolved to try and focus on getting the game roughly mapped out, even if it ultimately was simple shapes and tiles to stand in for complex environments later. 

I'll def return to these at a later date, but for now alpha maps are the current objective. On that note, I am pretty much 80% done with major areas of the Ancient Forest, and about 70-80% done with Chapter 1 mapping due to this. The Ancient Forest represented a huge barrier to completion, and a lot of functions are currently in place. I was working on story for a while, but I've shifted towards making art scenes since I've been struggling to progress with the story.

I hope you enjoy these screenshots and exclusive art pictures, and that will generally bring you up to speed on most of the development thus far.

A number of tracks have been completed by the ever talented Meteo Xavier, and we stand pretty close to the soundtrack completion. A lot of things are going well in the development cycle, and I look forward to sharing more news, art, and progress as things proceed!
