We Missed the Iceberg (Week 74)


This week, my sleep schedule was a success! I slapped my sleep back into order and am actually making headway in the mornings (and reliably getting coffee into my bloodstream).

Oh, you don't care about my sleeping habits, I see how it is. You only care about my shiny screenshots and arts.

Ok here you go.

So this week I finished Iskar's sprite and have started Me'zhad's, the last of the main party character's. I also started a new sprite based animation but it's still in a rough state and I will need to adjust some frames here and there I'm pretty sure. I personally like it but I am told I have the sensitivity of a bull in a china shop so there's that.


Zephy is getting back into an actual job now so progress will be slower on art and battlers, but this demonstrably doesn't bother me as the overall dev time this update will take will easily make it a negligible interference with my plans. She will be making the mini boss design for an Underworld boss soon however, so look forward to that being featured when she is done.

Xavier is unfortunately last I checked still hard at work on music and real life has a propensity to kick him in the gnads I've observed so I give him the space he needs on that front. He is reworking the battle themes of the game to match each other, and working on the last few tracks of the soundtrack for Chapter 1. After he gets all of that done, we will probably let him have a break from the project so he can relax for a while.

So the current outlook at present is Me’zhad should be finished by the end of next week, and I should be able to get work done on story scenes especially once I figure out the right balance for the sprite animations. There will be an emphasis on story development for a while after with some sprite animation supporting that.

We’ll resume gameplay once we get to the natural progression of old and new content. That’s already all I have for you but stay tuned for more non sleep deprivation based progress!
